The incumbent serves as the appointed chief medical
examiner for Shelby County, Tennessee and, with latitude
for exercise of independent judgement; helps oversee
medicolegal death investigation operations at the West
Tennessee Regional Forensic Center which provides
autopsy services for 14 counties in western Tennessee.
